In Boston, we've had a run of cold weather, and even a snow storm on the first day of spring. This coming week, temps will be in the 70's and it will finally feel like spring. Shoes, like any article of clothing, should be swapped out with the seasons. It's time to pack away the chukkas and Bean boots, and start incorporating lighter, more breathable options.

Perfect for transitional weather, a good moccasin will take you from casual Friday at the office, to the bar with your buddies after work. I wear my Gokey Double-Sole Mocs on Saturdays when running errands. They're comfortable enough to slip on and head out the door. They almost feel like slippers, but wear like a loafer.
This Spring, we're seeing perforated leather everywhere from jackets to shoes. Perforated leather gives shoes a lighter feel and a little bit of texture and subtle visual interest. Pikolinos Tulum Casual Loafer have perforated leather and a great braided detail around the edge that's almost reminiscent of an espadrille. A classic spring look. These loafers are hand-stitched with super soft leather for ultimate flexibility.
I'm a boat shoe junkie and consider them the ultimate warm weather shoe. From the beach, to the dinner table, boat shoes evoke the essence of coastal life and are incredibly comfortable. Best of all, with continued wear, boat shoes take on the shape of your foot and develop a gorgeous patina. While I'm usually a boat shoe purist, the new Paul Sperry Collection from Sperry incorporated a little bit of tech into the sole of a classic looking boat shoe. I'm loving them and plan to wear them throughout the spring and summer.
Is there any more verstile shoe than a driving moc? Characterized by a rubber sole that wraps around the heel, driving mocs look great with suits, jeans, or even shorts. Many options, like the Hush Puppies Lynx Terveen incorporates a pop of color to stand out from other basic driving mocs. It's a great way to incorporate a color trend (like orange) in small doses.
