It's a Tee, It's a Bucket, It's a Bucket Tee

I tend to quickly obsess over things. Whether it’s an upcoming event, type of food, or current trend, I go from 0-60 in no time flat. So when Bucket Tee’s sent me a few shirts, I knew I had to wear, and talk about them, with everyone I know. A Bucket Tee is nothing more than a giant pocket, in a bold fabric, sewn on the front of a solid color t-shirt. It’s a ridiculous idea that I’m absolutely in love with.

We’re seeing more and more irreverent fashion as of late from Chubbies to well, Bucket Tee’s. Filling the space between traditional pocket tees, deep v-necks, and graphic tees, Bucket Tees are bold and ridiculous in the best possible way. Memorial Day Weekend in Ptown was the perfect location to try out my Humuhumunukunukuapua'a shirt (yes that’s the name of the Hawaiian floral pattern) Bucket Tee. Wearing my tee I headed to the Boatslip for their nightly tea dance. Very quickly (like the second I walked in) a bartender shouted for me to cover over so he could inspect my shirt. I ordered a can of beer and demoed the utility of an oversized pocket. OK so it’s more of a party trick than a utilitarian function, but it’s cool as hell and got a good laugh from everyone within view.

Based in Tampa, Florida, Bucket Tee’s are limited edition with sizes and styles selling out daily. Besides the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a style I picked up, there are 8 others including seersucker, moustache print, and bacon print, yes, bacon. Beyond looking really cool, the shirts are really soft and comfortable. The tees are a mid-weight and hold their shape well. I wore mine twice (without washing) and it didn’t stretch or pull at all. Sizing seems pretty true without any excess fabric. So, what can you put in that giant pocket? ANYTHING! That’s the best part. Along with that beer I slipped in, I also shoved a bag of Chex mix in the pocket, and my cell phone. I guess it did provide some function after all.

I’m not here to sell you on these shirts, I’ll just let the photos do the talking. Check out Bucket Tees on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and order one on BucketTees.com. Cost is $29.95 and shipping is always free in the US.
